A little history:
I was born into a great order of modern mages, who kept their identities hidden to the outside world yet held great ceremonies weekly in secret places. Most of the elders in the order were corporate businessmen or politicians who held high offices in government. They instilled in me a sense of appreciation for destruction and manipulation, and they taught me how to control the world around me with words and appearances. When I became a teenager, they presented me with the gift that marks the beginning of manhood in our order- the mask. At the ceremony when my mask was placed on my head permanantly, I felt myself change; I felt myself become the person I always felt I was inside. It hasn't come off since, and from that day forward, I have found it much easier to be in the world without fear of irrational emotion or connection to others. I've also found myself able to manipulate the world to my will and bidding a hundred times better than I ever could without it.

Here are some of my favorite bands, ones that remind me of the world that could be and the worlds within worlds:
king skin, the golden orbs, the rings of stone, the wasted time, leaven memory, heaven's attic, tie-dyed illusions, operatic bulldozers, the forms of the sun, the claymen, startrees, the hundred halos, and certain green crumbs
